The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology offers B. Tech., ComputerScience and Information Technology, an undergraduate program to create motivated, innovative, creative andthinking graduates to fill ICT positions across sectors who can conceptualize, design, analyze, and develop ICTapplications to meet the modern day requirements.Department of Computer Science and Information Technology was established in the year 2024 with an intake of 120 Capacity.

The impact of Technological advancement on human life is not complete without the role of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT). Computer Science and Information Technology (CS & IT) encompasses a variety of topics that relates tocomputation and applications of computing like, development of algorithms, analysis of algorithms,programming languages, software design, computer hardware, e-commerce, business information technology,Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Block Chain Technology, Mobile ApplicationDevelopment, IoT, Wireless Sensor network, Web Technology.

Computer Science and Information Technology(CS & IT) has roots in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Linguistics. In the past Computer Science andinformation science were taught as part of mathematics or engineering departments and in the last 3 decadesthey are emerged as separate engineering fields. In the present information era (Knowledge era), the ComputerScience and information technology program will see an exponential growth as the future machines work onartificial intelligence. The B. Tech. in Computer Science and Information Technology curriculum developed by the Board of Studies of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology is outcome based and it comprises required theoretical concepts andpractical skills in the domain. By undergoing this program, students develop critical, innovative, creative thinkingand problem solving abilities for a smooth transition from academic to real-life work environment. In addition,students are trained in interdisciplinary topics and attitudinal skills to enhance their scope. The above mentionedfeatures of the program, advanced teaching and learning resources and experience of the faculty members withtheir strong connections with ICT sector makes this program unique.

The B. Tech. in Computer Science and Information Technology program provides graduates with the industry necessary skills with technical knowledge to take an appropriate position upon their completion of graduation which fulfill the societal needs with Professional and Ethical Values.

We have the required laboratories which are well equipped and highly configured computer systems with latest labs like Programming for Problem Solving, IT Work Shop, DMDW, CN&OS, OOPs., Python Programming, R-Programming, Multi-Media Application Development, Android Application Development, Computer Networking, Linux Programming, Web Development and Microprocessor Labs.

Student’s chapters of professional societies like TAM, CSI, & ISTE, which aim at tapping the inner abilities and showcase their talents. Our students will also be permitted to involve in various social services through NSS, CLUBS, and ISR for holistic development.

We encourage student to improve Self-Learning skills, by providing round the clock on-line Resources from various sources like NPTEL, MOOCS, SWAYAM, OPAC, IEEE, SPRINGER, J-GATE etc., Students will be benefited to update their skills and they become a Global leaders with latest technologies.

Scope of Program

  • As a young entrepreneur, a B. Tech. CS&IT graduate can go for establishing a startup, which is based on a new invention, a patent or an innovation, in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Security and Cryptography, Database Management, Quantum Computing, Mobile Computing, and so on. The Government of India today supports new startups by providing seed money for establishing them.
  • A B. Tech. CS&IT graduate can go for higher studies by attaining a Master's degree, which is usually Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in India and is named as Master of Science (MS) in countries abroad. Some of the preferred destinations of Indian students, who wish to complete an MS degree abroad, include USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia. A B. Tech. graduate can also go towards completing a Master in Business Administration (MBA), to sustain a managerial level job in the IT industry. Having completed a Master's degree, students can go for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree to pursue a career in teaching or research.
  • Teaching is another good option for a B. Tech. student after he completes the minimum qualifications for becoming a teacher. A school teacher in computer science must have a graduation degree, and/or a master's degree and the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree. A college/university job begins at the level of an Assistant Professor, for which the University Grants Commission (UGC) has laid down the minimum qualification to be a Ph.D. degree following a graduate and a master's degree.

  • Information security analyst: IT security analysts work to prevent cyber-attacks by monitoring their business’ network for breaches and weak spots and to create emergency plans in the event of an attack.
  • Network architect: Sometimes called network engineers, these IT professionals design and build communication networks, such as local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and intranets.
  • Computer support specialist: Support specialists provide advice and troubleshooting help to individuals and businesses that have questions about their software.
  • Database administrator: DBAs use software and programs to organize and store data for businesses that range from financial firms to shipping companies.
  • Systems administrator: System administrators conduct the day-to-day maintenance and operation of a business’ network, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and other communication systems. Salaries for this position vary by industry.
